Fortuna
This village is located close to the famous Volcn Arenal. A variety of volcanic tours are offered. Visitors can choose to observe volcanic activity, take a dip in the hot springs or opt for walking through lava rocks.
Monteverde
Monteverde is a town that has many attractions. It was also voted as one of Costa Rica’s 7 Wonders in 2007. Monteverde has also been called by National Geographic “the jewel in the crown of cloud forest reserves”. The famous Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is also located here. Nature lovers will also enjoy a walk through the Butterfly Garden or a visit to the Serpantarium.
Tamarindo
Tamarindo is the place to be for those who love fishing and water sports. Their seafood is renowned and you even have the option of choosing to catch your dinner yourself! There is also a Surf School which offers courses to both adults and children. The waves at Tamarindo offer excellent surfing opportunities and have even been featured in movies. Besides surfing, visitors can also scuba dive, snorkel, water ski, and kayak.

Curu Animal Reserve (Refugio Silvestre Curu)
Found on the eastern tip of the Nociya Peninsula, it refuge features a great variety of habitats. Curu includes deciduous and semi-deciduous forests, mangrove swamps, rocky headlands and sandy beaches fringed with palm trees. Many creatures live in the reserve, including over 200 species of birds, monkeys, pacas, deer, crabs, lobsters, iguanas, turtles, and three species of cats. A perfect get away for animal lovers.
Bird Paradise (Isla Pajarro Paraiso)
Isla Pajarro Paraiso or Bird Paradise is a must-see for bird-lovers as well as the general public. It’s a haven for thousands of species of birds.
